Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 April 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of tip.cx (the "Service"), a Discord bot operated by the tip.cx team. By adding the bot to a server, interacting with it via Discord commands, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What tip.cx is
tip.cx is a Discord bot that gives each user a custodial wallet for SOL, LTC, BTC, and ETH and lets users send those assets to other Discord users instantly via commands such as $tip, $rain, $airdrop, $coinflip, $connect3, $tictactoe, and others. Users can deposit and withdraw assets on-chain at any time.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and at least 18 years old, to use the Service.
- You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- You must not use the Service in any country, region, or context where doing so violates local law (sanctions, gambling laws, anti-money-laundering rules, etc.).
- You may not use the Service if you are subject to comprehensive U.S., U.K., E.U., or U.N. sanctions, or if you are located in a sanctioned region.
3. Custodial wallets & risk
- tip.cx holds private keys for the deposit addresses it generates for users. Your tip.cx balance is a custodial claim against those funds, not on-chain ownership of any specific UTXO or account.
- Cryptocurrency values fluctuate. The Service displays USD references for convenience only — the underlying balance is denominated in coin units (lamports, satoshis, wei, litoshis).
- The Service is provided "as is". We make no guarantees about uptime, balance availability, transaction speed, or recoverability of funds in the event of operator error, third-party failure, exchange-rate movement, or chain-level events (forks, reorgs, mempool issues).
- Network fees on withdrawals are paid by you and reserved automatically from the withdrawal amount. Some withdrawals are subject to a small operator fee disclosed on the Docs and Commands pages.
- Once a withdrawal is broadcast on-chain, it is irreversible. We cannot recover funds sent to the wrong address.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to launder funds, evade sanctions, or further any illegal activity.
- Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service, including but not limited to abusing race conditions, attempting to double-spend, spamming commands to cause denial-of-service, or impersonating other users.
- Use the Service in any context that violates the rules of the Discord server it is installed in.
- Resell, repackage, or redistribute access to the Service.
- Use the Service to facilitate gambling for users in jurisdictions where this is illegal. The Service includes peer-to-peer games (coinflip, Connect 3, Tic-Tac-Toe) which involve staking cryptocurrency between consenting users; you are responsible for ensuring this is lawful where you are.
5. Games & staking
Game commands like $cf, $c3, and $ttt let users stake their tip.cx balance against another user's. Outcomes are determined by a cryptographically secure pseudorandom generator (CSPRNG) for coinflip and by gameplay for Connect 3 / Tic-Tac-Toe. Stakes are atomically debited at challenge time and atomically credited to the winner at settlement. There is no house edge on player-vs-player games.
6. Operator fees
Tipping, rains, airdrops, deposits, and games between users are free. Withdrawals over $10 (SOL/LTC) or $20 (BTC/ETH) are subject to a 1% operator fee on top of the underlying network fee, sent on-chain to a treasury address as part of the same withdrawal flow. Smaller withdrawals incur only the network fee.
7. Account security
Your tip.cx balance is tied to your Discord account. Anyone with access to your Discord account can act as you within the bot, including sending tips, placing stakes in games, and initiating withdrawals. Use 2-factor authentication on Discord and do not share your account.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, including but not limited to: suspected fraudulent activity, abuse of game mechanics, violations of these Terms, sanctions compliance, or operator discretion. We may freeze balances pending investigation. We will make a reasonable effort to return any uncontested balance to a withdrawal address you control after termination.
9. No financial advice
Nothing in the Service or this site is financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Cryptocurrency carries risk of total loss.
10. No warranty & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of tip.cx will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the value of funds you have lost as a direct result of operator error in the 30 days preceding the claim, capped at USD 100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of tip.cx from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
